Invataksilla pääsee suoraan rakennuksen etuovelle Kalasataman puolelle.
Parkkitilaa autoille löytyy etuovesta vasemman kulman takaa (Easypark).
Talvella alueen jäisyys tai liukkaus voi aiheuttaa vaikeuksia apuvälineitä käyttäville ja näkövammaisille ylläpidosta huolimatta.
Hissi, jonka sisäänkäynti on naapurirapussa, on lukossa. Lukituksen saa auki alaoven avaimella tai sopimalla henkilökunnan kanssa, että he avaavat sen). Lukitseminen käytön jälkeen on tärkeää, koska varkaat käyttävät sitä reittiä.
WC:t ovat pyörätuolilla kuljettavia. Aulan toinen wc on saavutettavampi (kyltti hankitaan!).
Opasteet ovat suomeksi ja englanniksi.
Kynnyksiä Eskuksen tiloissa ei ole.
Korotettuja tuoleja ei toistaiseksi ole.
Keittiö on kaikille avoin, ja siitä kerrotaan aktiivisesti. Yläkaappeihin ei ylety pyörätuolista, ja tilan vuoksi tätä tuskin voi muuttaa. Rohkaistaan pyytämään apua.
Aulan saleihin annetaan avain vuokralaisille 1 avain/ryhmä. Tilan vuokraaja vastaa siitä, että kaikki tilan käyttäjät pääsevät sisään. Kun salit eivät ole käytössä, ne ovat siivouksen helpottamiseksi ja turvallisuussyistä lukossa.
Ovien avaaminen Oviaukkojen koko. Oviaukkojen koko on pyörätuolien mentävä (min 80 cm), paitsi aulan pikku wc.
Musiikin voimakkuuden yli pitää Eskuksella pystyä puhumaan. Salin vuokraajille tämä on vuokrauksen ehto. Salit eivät ole kuitenkaan äänieristettyjä, joten ääntä kuuluu, ja se kerrotaan aina vuokralaisille. Tiistai-iltana on ns. ”hiljainen ilta”, ei vuokrata ryhmille, jolla on äänentoistoa tai muuten äänekästä toimintaa.
Työ tämän raiderin täydentämiseksi jatkuu esimerkiksi virallisen esteettömyyskartoituksen sekä asiantuntijayhteisöjen konsultoimisen muodossa. Tähän raideriin kerätään myös tiedot konsultoivista tahoista.
Accessibility of Eskus premises
Invataxi takes you to the front door of the premises on the Kalasatama side of the building.
Parking spaces for cars (Easypark) are situated to the left of the front door, around the corner.
Wintertime icy and slippery surfaces can, in spite of winter maintenance, cause obstacles for people with aid devices or visual impairment.
The elevator, with entrance from the next door stairway, is locked. It opens with the front door key or by agreement with the staff.
The toilets are accessible by wheelchair. One of the toilets in the hall has the best accessibility.
Information signs are in Finnish and English.
There are no thresholds in the Eskus premises.
There are no high seat chairs yet.
The kitchen is open for everybody. The upper cupboards cannot be reached from a wheelchair. Due to lack of space nothing can be done to change that. You are encouraged to ask for help.
Keys to the studio are given one key/group. Who rents the space is responsible for letting everybody using it in. When a studio is not in use the door is locked in order to facilitate cleaning and for security reasons.
Doors are wide enough for wheelchairs (about 80cm) with the exception of the small toilet in the hall.
Volume of music must be held low enough so that conversation is possible undisturbed. This is a condition for renting the studios. The studios are not sound isolated though, so sounds are heard and tenants are always informed about this. Tuesday evening is a so-called “silent evening” and is not rented to groups using sound equipment or having loud activities.
