Organizer's other eventsThis year’s first gathering of the Social Choreography Lab Helsinki will happen on Thursday, April 28th, between 17:30 – 20:00h. The workshop will be led by performance artist and choreographer Mikko Niemistö.
Mikko Niemistö is a choreographer who’s work currently centers around areas that exist in the outskirts of physical realities or linear time like dreams, states of protest and digital realms. In the Social Choreography workshop, Mikko will share some practices that have been present in his recent projects. These movement proposals deal with repetition and duration in order to create associative states that encourage the appearance of body memories and daydreams. By doing this in the setting of ”social choreography” we will see if some kind of collective states of awareness are possible to reach. www.mikkoniemisto.com
The workshop will be held in Sali 1 in ESKUS dance center in Suvilahti. ESKUS is located in Puhdistamo, building number 6, 2nd floor, the stairs next to Make Your Mark Gallery (see https://www.eskus.fi/yhteystiedot/).
No previous experience or skills are required, and the workshop is free of charge.
As space is limited, please register by sending an email to socialchoreography.helsinki@gmail.com.
Welcome!
